In late October, I took a trip to see 21 waterfalls in Benton, PA. It was a great hike and a great opportunity to get out and practice some photography.

Each morning during a week in August, I walked 2 to 3 miles while​​ photographing the sunrise and the beach in Avalon, NJ. This was my third year working on my Avalon series.

Utah Trip

February 2023

In mid February 2023, I took a trip to Eden, Utah, for some skiing. During the mornings and evenings away from the ski resorts, I photographed the views from the valley.

One weekend, to do something, I walked a half marathon through a snowstorm and I brought my camera. During this project, I explored the landscape as much as distractions and loneliness.

Total Lunar Eclipse

November 2022

Early in the morning on November 8th, 2022, central Ohio had great weather conditions for this rare blood moon! This was a total lunar eclipse that was at full eclipse during sunrise, which only happens roughly once per decade.

For a contemporary art course that I completed during spring 2022, our second project concerned methods of representing a personal archive. To visualize my undergraduate time as a runner for Kenyon’s cross-country and track teams, I created a wooden box with pyrography markings to make literal heatmaps of my running routes.



West Virginia

March 2022

During the second week of spring break 2022, I stayed in Fayetteville, West Virginia, with seven of my friends from the Kenyon College Track & Field distance squad. Our trip consists of running and hiking the nearby trails and exploring the views around the New River Gorge National Park.

During fall 2020, I studied remotely in Manheim, PA. To get out of the house for another solo autumn photography outing, I went to a nearby trail that my mother and I hiked our dogs on almost every week that year.
